How Amazon.ca fees work

Referral fee. A percentage of the total price — item plus shipping you charge plus gift wrap — with a $0.40 minimum in most categories. Some categories charge one rate on the whole price once you pass a threshold (clothing is 10% below $20 and 17% at $20 or more, on the full price). Others split the price into portions (jewellery is 20% on the first $325 and 5% on the rest). This calculator follows each category's own rule.

FBA fulfilment fee. Per unit, by size tier and shipping weight (the greater of actual and dimensional weight), from the January 15, 2026 rate card. Products priced under $14 get a rate $0.80 lower — applied here automatically. Holiday peak rates apply October 15 to January 14. Oversize holiday rates are not published in the same table, so oversize tiers use regular rates in both seasons here.

Fuel and logistics surcharge. Since April 17, 2026, Amazon adds 3.5% on top of the FBA fulfilment fee in Canada. It is calculated on the fulfilment fee, not on your price.

Storage. Monthly, per cubic metre of space your inventory uses: standard size $40 (January–September) and $77 (October–December); oversize $28 and $49. Aged-inventory and low-inventory fees can also apply and are not included here.

Selling plan. Individual is $1.49 per item sold. Professional is $29.99 a month on a Canada account — the break-even against Individual is about 21 units a month, before the extra tools Professional unlocks. A unified North America account is billed in USD instead.
